Polyurethane Cable

Polyurethane Cable

Short Description:

PUR Cables are special-purpose wires and cables with polyurethane (PUR) as the outer sheath material, classified as oil- and wear-resistant industrial cables. They are primarily used for connecting industrial equipment in environments with oil contamination, low temperatures, and high dynamic bending

DimensionDetailed Description
Product DefinitionA special type of industrial cable that uses Polyurethane (PUR) as the core insulation/sheath material, divided into two core categories: polyester-based polyurethane (PUR-P) and polyether-based polyurethane (PUR-E). It is the core category of special industrial cables with high wear resistance, high tear resistance, high flexibility, oil and corrosion resistance in the industrial field, which can adapt to extreme working conditions with high wear, high dynamics and strong corrosion that conventional PVC/XLPE/rubber cables cannot cover.
Core Materials1. Core insulation/sheath materials: Polyester-based polyurethane (PUR-P), polyether-based polyurethane (PUR-E), flame retardant modified polyurethane, oil and corrosion resistant modified polyurethane, high tear resistant modified polyurethane, etc. For high dynamic scenarios, polyether-based polyurethane is preferred, and for oil resistant scenarios, polyester-based polyurethane is preferred;
2. Conductor: Oxygen-free copper, tinned copper, aluminum alloy conductor. For high flexibility/high frequency scenarios, high-purity oxygen-free copper/tinned copper conductor is preferred;
3. Supporting structure: Steel tape/steel wire armouring, copper mesh/aluminum foil shielding, water blocking and waterproofing, flame retardant and fire resistant composite structures can be provided to adapt to different scenario requirements.
Core Characteristics1. Excellent high wear and high tear resistance: The wear resistance of polyurethane material is more than 5 times that of ordinary PVC cables, and the tear strength is far superior to rubber/XLPE cables. It can withstand high-frequency bending, dragging and friction, and is the preferred material for dynamic scenarios such as drag chains and robots;
2. Outstanding high flexibility and fatigue resistance: Low elastic modulus, excellent softness, can be laid with an extremely small bending radius, and the bending fatigue life can reach more than 10 million times, far exceeding ordinary cables;
3. Strong oil and chemical corrosion resistance: It can withstand most corrosive media such as mineral oil, synthetic oil, hydraulic oil, acid and alkali solutions, and organic solvents, adapting to oil/corrosion environments such as chemical industry, oil fields, ships, and new energy vehicles;
4. Excellent low temperature resistance and waterproof performance: The long-term allowable operating temperature can be as low as -50℃, the low temperature resistance is far superior to PVC cables, and it also has excellent waterproof sealing performance, adapting to humid, underwater and high humidity environments;
5. Stable electrical performance: High insulation resistance, low dielectric constant, small dielectric loss, no attenuation of electrical performance in a wide temperature range, which can stably transmit power and signals, adapting to high-frequency control and precision signal transmission scenarios;
6. Outstanding safety performance: It can be matched with high flame retardant, low smoke zero halogen and fire resistant structure, no dripping and no toxic gas release during combustion, adapting to scenarios with high fire safety requirements such as mines, rail transit, and new energy vehicles;
7. Strong microbial resistance and weather resistance: Polyether-based polyurethane has excellent mold and microbial resistance, as well as UV resistance, ozone resistance and salt spray resistance, adapting to outdoor, marine and humid harsh environments.
National/Industry Implementation StandardsDomestic standards: GB/T 12706 Series Standards for Extruded Insulated Power Cables, GB/T 5013 Series Standards for Rubber Insulated Cables, GB/T 2951 General Test Methods for Cable Insulation and Sheath Materials, MT 818 Series Standards for Coal Mine Cables, CJ/T 141 Cables for Urban Lighting, GB/T 19666 General Rules for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Wires and Cables;
International standards: IEC 60502 Specification for Extruded Insulated Power Cables, IEC 60332 Test Methods for Burning Performance of Cables, UL 1581 Safety Standard for Wires and Cables, CE EN 50525 Industrial Cable Standard.
Core Application Scenarios1. Industrial automation and robotics scenarios: High-frequency dynamic bending and high wear scenarios such as drag chain systems, industrial robots, automated production lines, and CNC machine tools;
2. New energy vehicle scenarios: On-board high-voltage wiring harnesses, charging pile cables, battery pack connecting wiring harnesses and other oil-resistant, wear-resistant, temperature-resistant and flame retardant scenarios;
3. Underground mine scenarios: Flame retardant and explosion-proof, high wear resistance, high flexibility scenarios for mining equipment, conveyors, underground control equipment in coal mines and metal mines;
4. Ship and marine scenarios: Seawater corrosion resistance, oil resistance, waterproofing, microbial resistance scenarios for ships, yachts, offshore platforms, underwater equipment;
5. Chemical and oilfield scenarios: Oil resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high wear resistance scenarios for chemical workshops, oilfield drilling, oil refining equipment;
6. Medical equipment scenarios: High flexibility, disinfection resistance, corrosion resistance scenarios for medical robots, surgical equipment, testing instruments;
7. Outdoor municipal scenarios: Waterproof, weather resistance, high wear resistance scenarios for urban landscape lighting, fountains, swimming pools, underground pipe galleries.
