Submersible & Waterproof Cables

Submersible & Waterproof Cables

Short Description:

Waterproof Cables are used to transmit electrical power to underwater equipment with an AC voltage of 500 V or below, such as submersible motors. They maintain excellent electrical insulation performance under long-term immersion and high water pressure. Waterproof rubber-sheathed cables also feature good flexibility and can withstand frequent movement.

DimensionDetailed Description
Product DefinitionDivided into two core categories:
1. Waterproof Cable: A special cable suitable for long-term humid, water-spraying and shallow water environments, with excellent radial waterproof, moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant properties, which can operate stably for a long time in a water depth of 0-10m;
2. Submersible Cable: A special underwater cable specially developed for underwater diving equipment, submersible motors and underwater operation equipment, which can withstand long-term high water pressure and full immersion environment, with radial + axial dual waterproof, water pressure resistance, corrosion resistance and mechanical impact resistance, and can operate stably for a long time in a water depth of more than 10m.
Core Materials1. Core insulation/sheath materials: Chloroprene Rubber (CR), Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (CSM), Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), Polyurethane (PUR), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) flame retardant polyolefin, etc. For deep diving scenarios, materials with excellent water pressure resistance and corrosion resistance such as chloroprene rubber, polyurethane and ethylene propylene rubber are preferred;
2. Conductor: Oxygen-free copper, tinned copper, aluminum alloy conductor. For underwater scenarios, tinned copper conductor is preferred to improve oxidation and corrosion resistance;
3. Waterproof structure: Core composite waterproof structure including radial water blocking tape, water blocking yarn, sealing sheath, axial waterproof sealing ring, waterproof plug, etc. For deep diving scenarios, double-layer sheath and multi-layer water blocking structure are provided;
4. Armouring/shielding structure: Steel tape/steel wire armouring and copper mesh/aluminum foil shielding structure can be provided to improve mechanical impact resistance and electromagnetic interference resistance.
Core Characteristics1. Excellent waterproof sealing performance: It can achieve the highest waterproof grade IPX8, with radial + axial dual waterproof, which can withstand long-term full immersion and high water pressure environment, no water ingress, no moisture, and no attenuation of insulation performance;
2. Outstanding water pressure resistance: It can withstand water pressure from 0.1MPa to more than 10MPa, adapting to water depth from 10m to more than 1000m. The sheath has no deformation, no damage, and the waterproof structure has no failure under long-term water pressure;
3. Excellent corrosion resistance: It can withstand corrosive media such as seawater, sewage, acid and alkali solutions, oil stains, and organic solvents, adapting to harsh underwater environments such as oceans, municipal sewage, and chemical wastewater;
4. Excellent mechanical properties: Outstanding tensile, bending, impact and wear resistance, which can withstand dragging, rolling and bending during underwater operations, and the sheath has excellent tear and puncture resistance;
5. Stable electrical performance: High insulation resistance, stable dielectric properties, no voltage attenuation, no signal distortion in underwater environment, which can stably transmit power and signals, adapting to all scenarios of underwater power, control and signal transmission;
6. Outstanding safety performance: It can be matched with high flame retardant, low smoke zero halogen and fire resistant structure, no dripping and no toxic gas release during combustion, adapting to scenarios with high fire safety requirements such as ships, offshore platforms and municipal engineering.
National/International Implementation StandardsDomestic standards: GB/T 28181-2011 Waterproof Rubber Cables for Submersible Motors, GB/T 12706 Extruded Insulated Power Cables and Accessories for Rated Voltages from 1 kV to 35 kV, GB/T 5013 Rubber Insulated Cables for Rated Voltages up to and Including 450/750V, GB/T 19666 General Rules for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Wires and Cables, CJ/T 141 Waterproof Cables for Urban Lighting;
International standards: IEC 60502 Specification for Extruded Insulated Power Cables, IEC 60092 Electrical Installations in Ships - Cables, IEC 60332 Test Methods for Burning Performance of Cables, UL 1581 Safety Standard for Wires and Cables, DNV GL Offshore Standard for Cables.
Core Application Scenarios1. Diving equipment supporting: Power and signal transmission for diving equipment such as submersible motors, submersible pumps, underwater robots, diving operation equipment, and underwater cameras;
2. Underwater engineering scenarios: Power supply and control for underwater engineering such as offshore platforms, submarine optical cables, underwater pipelines, underwater construction equipment, port terminals, and ship locks;
3. Municipal water supply and drainage scenarios: Power supply and control for humid, water-spraying and underwater environments such as sewage treatment plants, water supply and drainage pipelines, underground pipe galleries, rainwater pumping stations, and sewage pumping stations;
4. Ship and marine scenarios: Power supply and signal transmission for marine environments such as ships, yachts, offshore platforms, buoys, and underwater detection equipment;
5. Outdoor humid scenarios: Power supply for long-term humid and water-spraying environments such as urban landscape lighting, underwater landscapes, fountains, swimming pools, outdoor advertisements, and underground garages;
6. Special industrial scenarios: Power supply and control for equipment in flushing, humid and corrosive environments such as chemical industry, pharmacy, and food processing.
